Individual Psychotherapy for Adults

Traumatic events can make us feel stuck in the past and worried about the future. I work with many clients who experienced early childhood and relationship trauma, which are experiences that ruptured their sense of safety and security. Trauma can show up as these symptoms:

  • Emotional dysregulation (quick to become anxious, fearful, angry, or shut down)

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Perfectionistic and critical toward oneself

  • Self esteem and self worth issues

  • Relationship and attachment issues

  • Chronic or other physiological problems (gastroenteritis, chronic pain, insomnia)

I support clients in healing from their traumatic experiences and building up their resiliency for a happier and more fulfilled life.

With therapy, you can see results in:

  • Experiencing more self compassion and self awareness

  • Honoring yourself and your needs

  • Understanding your depression and anxiety

  • Engaging in healthy communication instead of avoiding conflicts or intimacy

  • Enjoying life in the present and connecting to your best self.

Healthy Relationship

I am passionate about helping my clients building healthy relationships with themselves and others. I have dedicated my career to working with trauma survivors of intimate partner violence. Previously, I worked with children, adolescents, and families at The Ali Forney Center (one of the largest LGBTQ+ homeless youth community centers in the United States) and STEPS to End Family Violence at Rising Ground. In addition, I worked as a helpline advocate at Womankind (formerly the New York Asian Women’s Center), providing crisis counseling.

Support Asian American Mental Health

Social stigma and shame are common barriers to seeking mental health support in Asian American community. I am committed to providing high quality therapeutic services to Asian Americans struggling with immigration experiences, caregiving responsibilities, career changes, identity issues, sense of belonging, and other racial/cultural concerns.

As a social worker, I utilize an anti-oppressive lens, helping my clients process the many ways race, racism, ethnicity, class, sexuality, and gender inform our senses of self and identity in the world.

In therapy, I believe that the client-therapist relationship is critical. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer any questions and see if we might be a good fit for each other.
