Therapeutic Approach

I center my practice on the understanding that our thoughts, emotions, nervous system, and physical body are all interconnected. I will assist you in defining your own goals and offer guidance, support, and effective tools to get you there.

I draw from a wide range of therapeutic tools to create long-lasting and holistic changes in both body and mind. Therapy sessions incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps us understand our life experiences through the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Small changes in one area can lead to changes in other areas. CBT focuses on recognizing the thought-mood connection, which often influences our behaviors and reactions in various situations. Gentle exploration and inquiry of our perceptions and beliefs can lead to happier moods and positive behavioral changes.

 

Internal Family System (IFS)

IFS allows us to see and embrace the multitudes in our self, which we often described as “a part of me.” Parts can be inner voices, thoughts, feelings, imagery, or sensations. Often, we can be critical of ourselves without understanding why. Getting to know our parts help us gain an awareness of our internal dynamics, what we are feeling, and why we do the things we do. The IFS process encourages a compassionate relationship between self and parts so that we can live life from a place of balance, harmony, self-compassion, and leadership.

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

SSP is a 5-hour therapeutic music program, a powerful tool for supporting the regulation of the autonomic nervous system for children, adolescents, and adults. With guided practice of SSP, we can feel safer, more resilient, and more connected to people and the world around us.
